Needle Felting Workshop
Learn Needle Felting basics with Artist Catherine Kanvik
Come discover the wonderfully tactile world of needle felting! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to transform soft, unspun wool into a beautiful piece of art using a simple technique and a specialized barbed needle.
Needle felting is a dry textile craft where tiny barbs on the needle catch and interlock the wool fibers. As you repeatedly poke the needle into the wool, the fibers become condensed and firm, allowing you to sculpt the wool into 2D designs or 3D forms.
Whether you’re completely new to needle felting or just looking for a fun way to explore a new creative medium, this workshop is designed to be relaxed, approachable, and fun. You’ll learn the basic techniques while creating your own unique felted artwork to take home.
