The Doll Lady

A few months ago, filmmaker Andrew Gribbins (@andrewgribbins) created a documentary about the doll assemblage work of CSA Resident Artist Stephanie Gainer as his senior film project at UNC Charlotte.

What makes this story even more meaningful is that Andrew and Stephanie first met when he was a freshman, when he created a 90-second documentary about her artwork. Four years later, after earning his film degree, Andrew has been accepted into Wake Forest University to pursue a graduate degree in film. Watching his growth as a filmmaker has been inspiring.

Now, his latest 12-minute, 30-second documentary, The Doll Lady, has been selected for screening at the Bedford International Film Festival this past July—a wonderful milestone in his filmmaking journey.
